Happy Birthday To Me!!

I had a wonderful birthday yesterday.  When I got up I found these roses on the table. He also got me a wireless mouse, the cords on my old one were falling out of the plug, so that gift was greatly appreciated.  My neighbour sang Happy Birthday to me through the window. Rob went out when he got up and bought me a yummy lunch while I was working with the girls. I made hamburger soup the day before so we just heated that up the leftovers so I didn't need to cook dinner, and then we had strawberry shortcake for dessert. Yummy!!! To finish off the day, Shirley took me to the theater to see Iron Man 3. It was really good!!

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. they made me feel extra loved!

Gratitudes
1. That I have a family that loves me so much.
2. That the weather is beautiful here.
3. That Rob's new job gives him stat holidays off, we actually get to spend the weekend together as a family.

Happy Late Mother's Day

Jake and Fluffy Beast

Happy late Mother's Day to all the wonderful mothers. My computer has been having temper tantrums, I actually started this post the day before Mother's Day, but the stupid computer kept shutting down or freezing making it really hard to finish it or post it.

I am feeling a lot better after the surgery, and I go in next week to see the surgeon for the follow up. I still can't do any heavy lifting and if I sit for too long I get sore and need to either lay down or stand up to stretch out. But other than that I am feeling great.

I had a good Mother's Day, we went to church and had breakfast there. During the service the sunday school class came and handed out carnations to all the moms. After church Rob took us all out for ice cream, then we dropped the kids off and went to look at mattresses. I watched  couple shows in the afternoon and Rob made perogies and sausage for dinner. Definitely a nice day.

Gratitudes
1. That it is really spring, finally!! And all my tulips are up and starting to bloom.
2. That I am starting to get back to my regular routine.
3. That school is almost done for the year.

My youngest 4!!! Not so little!!

I am still healing but am starting to feel a lot better.  I have almost no pain now and the incisions look like they are all healed except the biggest one. Of course it is the one that is in the worst place, I can't get my bra on because it will rub. Oh well, it won't be long and then that will be healed too.

The girls and I are doing school work slowly but surely. A lot of it has been done from bed but that's ok. The benefits of homeschooling!! I had a Star Wars birthday cake done for today and will post a picture of that as soon as I get it off my phone.

The chistian school the kids went to had a talent show last night and the twins and a friend decided to compete as alumni. They had a blast and got a lot of laughs. Rob took a video so we will try to get that off his phone and posted too.

Gratitudes
1. That I am healing and feeling alot better.
2. That the pastors wife brought us a meal.
3. That Rob and the kids have been doing a lot to keep things going around here.

Sorry I've been MIA....

But I'm still here. My Dad and Vadie were here for the last week and we had a great visit, even though it wasn't long enough. They never are!!

We have had a few birthdays around here:

Joe's birthday was March 31st.
Grandpa Don's birthday was on April 5th.
Twins birthday was on April 7th.
Riley's birthday was on April 8th.

The twins celebrated their birthday by the guys all going bowling, they invited a few friends and then Opa, Uncle Joe and David went with them too. Afterwards they all came back here for pizza and ice cream cake. They then took over the front room for video games. They all had a great time.

Tracey, Riley and Matthew came down too and then we had a family birthday party on Sunday for all of the birthday boys. Wish you could have been here too Grandpa Don!!!

Not much new.....

Not alot has been happening around here, mostly just trying to get back onto a schedule with the girls and getting used to Rob's new work schedule. He is enjoying the new job and goes out for coffee with his friends to get that human interaction that he needs. LOL!!

I just started a new Beth Moore bible study on David and am really excited to get into. I really enjoy Beth Moores speaking and have watched a couple of her videos on youtube. This is a really good one

Beth Moore - Get Out of That Pit

We are still downsizing around here too. Since the beginning of this year we have gotten rid of ........

4334 items!!!!

I have no choice but to believe this stuff is breeding in dark corners! We have slowed down but will be continuing to get rid of stuff for awhile yet. We haven't even got to the shed yet.

Gratitudes
1. That spring is coming!!
2. That we have more than we need.
3. That the boys are doing well and enjoying school.

Update

Sorry I haven't been posting, but life gets in the way sometimes. Here is what has been happening the last few weeks:

I am starting to feel better and get my energy back. I spent a week in the hospital and was released on March 1st. They admitted me after a trip to the emergency room for a really bad gall stone attack. They did bloodwork while in ER and found out my liver and gallbladder enzymes were very high, which meant I had a severe infection in both. They figure one of the gall stones had blocked off a bilary duct and caused the infection. They put me on 2 different IV antibiotics to get the infection under control and fluids because they didn't want me eating in case they couldn't fix the infection and needed to do surgery. Nothing by mouth for almost 5 days and I lost 5lbs!! Not that I would want to do that again though. When they let me go home they put me on 2 more oral antibiotics for another week. Now I am off all the medication and am feeling alot better. I still need to get my gall bladder out though and have a consult with the surgeon next week. So please pray that I won't have anymore flare ups or pain until they can get me in for surgery.

Rob started his new job last Monday and is enjoying it. I like the hours much better than what he had before. He is doing janitorial for the daycare that is in the basement of our church. He works 12 -5 Monday through Friday and then 3 hours on the weekend to clean the other building they have. He has less hours but higher pay so it will work out about the same. We love that he is home for dinner every night now and we have the weekend do stuff as a family.

The kids are all doing great. The boys are enjoying their classes this semester, with one exception. Jake is finding his math class way to easy for him, so his counsellor is going to get him moved to a higher level math next year. The girls got a nice break from school with me in the hospital so now we are working at getting back on schedule. Frank is trying out for a musical production at school, he enjoys acting and singing so hopefully he will get it.

Gratitudes
1. That I am feeling better.
2. That Rob, Frank, Jake and David all really worked together to make sure the girls were taken care of  while I was gone, and they kept the house reasonably clean.
3. That I recieved some beautiful flowers from our pastor's wife and from Aunt Jacquie and Uncle Russ, ad I am still enjoying them.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

This past weekend the girls had a Valentine's Day party. They had to do everything for it, decide on the food, make the invitations and then do all the set up and clean up. They had so much fun and did a wonderful job. It was very busy and the kids were running back and forth that everything was a blur so I didn't get any pictures of the party but we have a few of the food, the craft and the girls making the invitations.

Rob gave me the roses for Valentine's Day early, I think with the girls talking about the party nonstop he thought it was actually on the weekend. They loved having them for a decoration.

Gratitudes
1. That the weather has been amazingly warm here for the last little while.
2. That Max is doing alot better.
3. That we have so much!! Much more than we need. God is great!!

Belly Dance Recital

Just before Christmas the girls did a dance recital, they had an great time and they did amazing . I am very proud of both of them.

This past week has been crazy busy and expensive. Rob and the boys went to Brooks and helped Tracey and Riley get moved up to their new house. I haven't heard from Tracey in a few days so hopefully they are settling in quickly.

On Thursday morning we took Max to the vet as he was throwing up large amounts of blood. They did some tests and he has pancreatis. They figure he had it for awhile but because it is controlled with a strict, bland diet we had it under control, because we were dealing with his IBS. Anyways they kept him overnight to make sure that is all it was and give him IV fluids and antibiotics. When we brought him home on Friday evening we were told keep a close eye on him and to keep him calm and resting for 3 days. Anyone that knows Max knows how interesting that was going to be. LOL. Anyways we called Joe and told him he couldn't come over for those 3 days, poor Joe, but Max adores him and goes alot crazy when he is around. Then let Tracey know that Emily and I weren't going to be able to help with the move. Max is doing great now and is back to his old self.

Gratitudes
1. That Max is better and it wasn't anything more serious.
2. That the girls are having fun with piano lessons and I get to hear them practice everyday.
3. That the weather has been really nice lately.
