These are the ornaments I made for the kids for xmas. I just used clear glass balls and filled them 1/2 full of fake snow with a little bit of blue glitter. Then I painted white snowflakes on them and put a little bit of silver glitter on them.

I haven't taken any pictures lately so instead here is a picture of the cake I did for Emily's birthday last year.
So today was weigh in day and I am down 1lb. Yea!!!
I have been working on flinging and have gotten rid of 2 more garbage bags of stuff. so my total amount of stuff gotten rid of now is 168. It always amazes me how many things we actually have in the house. I swear it must be breeding in the closets.
Another thing I am working on is getting projects done. I have a lot of UFO's(UnFinished Objects) that I need to work on. I joined the challenge at Frugal Village to finish 1 project a month this year. For January's project I choose sewing. I had my brother's camp blanket, a pile of mending and badges to put on the twins uniforms. I also wanted to make the latch hook rug for Emily that she has been patiently waiting for. All that is left now is to put the badges on the boys uniforms. Now I need to decide what project I will be tackling for February.

So today is Rob's birthday and he had to work. Happy birthday honey!!!! The last few days have been pretty busy.

This is the latch hook rug Emily got for her birthday and I finally got around to making for her.

On Friday we did a craft project with other home school families and the kids had a blast. They did lino printing. We used styrofoam and penciils instead of linoleum and knives though. The kids had so much fun that we might have to do this again at home.

Emily's Santa pic for the past year. We knew Mrs Claus so she sat on her knee instead.

The last few days I have been working on getting my brothers camp blanket finished. My mom had started it but never got around to putting on the badges. Last night I finally managed to get it finished and now it is gone from my house.

One of the things I am working on is getting rid of stuff we aren't using or don't love. I am trying to get our home more organized and less cluttered. With lots of people and little space it will probably be something I will be working on for a very long time. LOL!!

Here is a picture of Kiwi and Candi cuddling. It was taken last year. I have never caught one of the girl cats cuddling with one of the boy cats though.

Today the weather started warming up. YEA!!!!! I am hoping that tomorrow it will be nice enough to go for a walk. We need to get some milk and fruit so maybe we can combine a walk with shopping.

A picture of Fluffy and Diesel cuddling. A few minutes after I took the picture they started playing pretty rough and we had to break them up. How come we always are having to break up the boys in this house? Human and Feline.

Today was a yucky -34 when I woke up this morning but I still got ready and walked over to my TOPS meeting. My eyelashes and any hair that stuck out under the toque were all frosted by the time I got there. But it was definitely worth it. I lost 3.25 lbs this week. Yeah me!!!

I helped Emily practice her reading this afternoon and the twins worked on their science assignment. Then I made a yummy casserole with the leftover ham and broccoli. It was delicious. Now I am going to work on some of the hand sewing I have been letting pile up.

Faith, Destiny and Emily exercising. I found a Carebears exercise dvd the other day and the girls are loving it. I am glad they have a way to burn off excess energy when it is too cold to go out. Besides the movie tells them all about exercise, eating healthy and working hard on top of giving them the workout.

Today was relatively uneventful. We did school work and then the kids got some computer time. After that we took the xmas decorations down. Usually we have them down before the new year but this year there was so much going on and it just kept getting put off. Oh well it is done now.

Emily modelling her Sparks uniform with the new badges she earned. She got "Being a Spark" and "Going Outside" on top of the cookie sale badge.

It has snowed all day here and is very cold, so we stayed in most of the day. The twins did homework and then went out to shovel a few driveways. David did homework for most of the day, preparing for his diploma exam for socials. Emily did homework and played with Faith.

Rob was going to take Emily to a movie tonight, but he got called into work again, so I will be taking her. The twins have decided to come with us too. Emily hasn`t decided between The Princess and the Frog or Alvin and the Chipmunks.

The twins in uniform. Aren't they handsome?

School, cadets, sparks and babysitting all started today. Everything went well, I find it less chaotic when we are on a schedule and everyone has something to do. I ended up having to do the drop off for both cadets and sparks though because Rob got called in to work. They both start at 6:30 in different parts of town. The cadets want a parent to stay for the parent meeting from 7 to 8 usually, but Emily has to be picked up for 7:30. LOL!!Usually Rob goes to the cadet hall with the twins and I take Emily to sparks but once in awhile we just have to miss the parent meetings.

The sasquatch cake I made yesterday and today. It was picked up this afternoon, but I missed church so I could finish decorating it.

We visited with my Mom for a while today before we took her to the bus depot. She is now on her way back to Ottawa. We are going to miss her.

We stopped at the library and got some more books and movies and then came home and had dinner. After dinner we played wii for a bit before bed.

Here is our christmas tree from 2009.
I started this blog with good intentions, then life and everything else got in the way. I am going to try and update more frequently this year and at the very least attempt to post a picture.
