We had a weinie roast the night before the twins left for camp and this deer came up pretty close to us. Emily was very excited and took lots of pictures.

The desk and walls ready to start priming.  Notice the ugly purple/grey colour, the whole living room used to be that colour. Yuck!!
All painted then Rob asked if we could put the computer tower under the desk instead of on it. I couldn't just put it on the floor though it would get kicked and the kids would hit it with chairs and who knows what else. So I decided to build a box for it to sit in.
The box built in and painted too. Yay!!!
Everything put back where it belongs. I have a dining room table again.

Emily's wire ballerina, she made it at an art class we went to a few months ago, but hadn't finished it. Everytime I told her she should work on it she would say "Not right now." She is just lie her dad a procrastinator. LOL

Tiger lilies in full bloom with the lamium and coral bells blooming in the front.
Not sure what this one is but I love the colours.
I believe this one is speedwell but not 100 % sure. With the have rain and wind we have been getting it is having a hard time staying upright. Guess I will have to give it a hand.
Crane's Bill
This is the stump that was at the back of the yard we turned it into a garden a few years ago. It has really started filling in nicely this past year.
Emily's bean teepee, she is so excited about it. She planted the beans and has been closely watching it. She wants it to fill up so she can hide in it.

The twins acting crazy again. We took them up to the thrift store to find some new clothes since they grew again. The weigh about 160 lbs each and are now over 5'8". The both wanted this style of shirt instead of t-shirts. I think it makes them look more mature and very handsome. Frank is wearing the blue shirt and Jake is wearing the brown one.

This is our cat Diesel the day we brought him home from the SPCA. They found him outside a gas station, it was -40 C and someone had poured diesel fuel all over him, he was frozen to the ground. He ended up losing most of his tail, most of one ear and the tip of the other ear to frostbite. He was very lucky the vet thought he might lose his feet too, but they managed to save them. As you can see he lost most of his fur too. When we got him he weighed about 8lbs and was malnourished.
This is Diesel last week playing with the dog's toy. His fur all grew back in and he doubled his weight, he now weighs 15 lbs. He is a very happy and healthy cat and loves attention. We keep him strictly indoors because he will be more susceptible to frostbite now, but he doesn't seem to mind. He loves to lie by the windows but if the door is open he won't go near it. Maybe he thinks it is too dangerous out there, can't say I blame him.

Stockpile

No we do not believe in the end of the world, but we do agree with having a food supply.  To us it a type of insurance. An assurance that we will be able to eat if nothing else. What if we lost our jobs? Maybe we would struggle with the bills but at least we would be able to feed our kids.

This is just part of our stockpile, in all honesty I just finished cleaning and organizing these shelves so they are the only area fit to be photographed. I am working on the rest and when I finally get it done I will post more pictures.

Canada Day Fireworks

There is something about fireworks that makes me feel like a kid again. I love watching the colours explode across the sky and then fade into the night. I love hearing the kids ohhing and ahhing at each new explosion. I love seeing the wonder on their faces. What can I say, fireworks make me a very happy person.

I hope everyone had a safe and fun filled Canada Day!

HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!!!!

These 2 flowers started blooming in my garden this week and I don't remember planting them. LOL!! You gotta love volunteers especially when they are so pretty. I have no idea what they are so I am going to have to look them up to find out.
